Mutltiverse -roaming around

Postby multiverseuser » Wed Apr 02, 2008 1:17 am

Hello,

As a summary, I was able to connect to the alpha server.
I was so excited that I fell out the terrain map and I do not know
how to get back to "solid ground"

Any reset commands?

Thanks,

Once I get the in game editor working, you'll be able to move your character back, but for now, I can just reset the server. You can also just log in as another PC (same user/password, just select a different one)

Oh hah. I think the default config does auto-login and auto selection of the PC. If you open up client.conf, you can see autoConnect=True (you can leave that if you like since that will automatically log you in), and then there is defaultPC=mike. Comment that line out with a #. That will allow you to select a PC when logging in. Those options are mainly for testing (so that I don't have to click connect / select pc :) ).

I'm not sure how to login as a new PC
Do I need to change the client.cfg file?

Instead of /Player, I added /Player1
but I can't login

You should be able to just comment out the "defaultPC=mike 0" line in client.conf. I'd put things back to Player. Player denotes the service name to connect to on the host/port specified before that. I really need to write the documentation for the config files. :)

I'm logged in currently (though may be afk for a bit). One thing I noticed last weekend is that chat is broken, so if you do catch me online, it may not be too easy to communicate. You can bring up the currently useless chat window by hitting F2. By the way, the ClientUserInterface wiki page is pretty good for explaining which keys do what.
