Python 2.5

Postby SirGolan » Sat Apr 26, 2008 4:56 am

MV3D's client already requires Python 2.5 because of Python-Ogre (which doesn't really support 2.4 very much). Anyone have any objections to requiring Python 2.5 on the server as well? Some of my servers may object, but I'll beat them into submission.

The reason I ask is because I'd really like to start using Twisted's inlineCallbacks to make the code more readable in some places.

Hello,

I think python 2.5 should be the minimum. It is very matured and
most python dependencies are already 2.5 compatible. Besides I think 2.6 is
coming out...and 2.4 no longer adds new features.

Yeah, 2.4 is getting pretty old now. My development team still uses it at my real job which can be annoying at times, the only reason is because we use Ubuntu LTS releases on our servers and Hardy Heron is the first LTS release to have 2.5. That was just released this week.
