Areas

Areas are the mid level in the simulation environment. In effect, they are a collection of Objects. Areas do not have a specific size or location, though those concepts may be associated with them based on the Objects they contain. Areas really don't have to be responsible for anything other than holding objects, however, in general, they will have some things to do with physics.

Areas may be responsible for physics collisions, distance objects (like that castle that is very far away), and various other things. The preferred size of an area depends on its complexity. A simple area in the plains with few trees or other objects could be very large indeed while an area in the heart of a city may only encompass one block.

Areas are connected together by Gateways.
