Obtaining MV3D

The latest released version of MV3D is 0.75. Version 0.80 is the current development version (svn trunk), and version 0.85 will be the next released version.

Binaries

Windows binary installation packages for the latest release are available on the download page. There are three packages available:

  • Client - This just contains the MV3D official client which can be used to connect to the demo world or any other MV3D server.
  • Server - The quickest way to try out MV3D's server is to get this package.
  • Tools - Contains all the content tools available for MV3D. This is a great package to get for artists. You'll need to have someone run a server (or download that binary as well).

Newer binaries are available from time to time on the Hudson build job. These may be less stable than the official release builds as they don't go through any sort of QA process.

Source

Source for the latest release of MV3D is available on the download page. For the latest changes, you'll want to use SVN. You can also browse the source or visit the launchpad.net page. Check out WindowsClientInstall, LinuxClientInstall, and MacClientInstall for installation instructions.

MV3D's development method results in SVN trunk being fairly stable, so it is pretty safe to use that.
